CS/CTS Guided Tour (Script)

Intro

Over the next 15 minutes, I'll be taking you on a guided tour of the new Edge Products Evolution CS and CTS. With unmatched power, control, and style, the all-new, full-Color Screen and Color Touch Screen Evolutions offer the most advanced technology in engine tuning available today.

The Evolution CS and CTS programmers offer many of the same great features and benefits users have come to expect from Edge Products along with a whole host of exciting additional features.

Some of the great new features include full color screens, multiple power programming options, monitoring data from your vehicle's computer with an in-cabin color display, reading and clearing "check engine" lights, graphed performance tests such as 0-60 and 1/4-mile time runs, custom tuning options, backup camera, customized accessories, state-of-the-art mounting options, and internet updatability. To get just some of these features individually, you would need to buy a power programmer, diagnostic tool or scan tool, gauges, mounts, and more costing you more than double the price of the Evolution CS or CTS.

Style

Both the CS and CTS models feature full-color, high-resolution screens. The CS has a 2.4-inch, button-controlled screen, while the CTS model features a 4.3-inch touch screen. Both have a light sensitivity meter that will automatically adjust brightness as it gets darker.

The CS and CTS come packed in a new-style, all black, ruggedized case with a universal system for window mounting. In addition, customers can accessorize their CS and CTS Evolution with custom dash pod mounting options that are available from Edge to achieve that sleek built-in factory look. The bottom line is that the Evolution CS and CTS models just flat out look better than any other product on the market today.

Power Programming

The Evolution CS and CTS is loaded with several different power programming options. Each power level is tuned specifically for different driving situations. The level names are reflective of how each level should be used.

Trans Only – The Transmission Only level makes changes strictly to the transmission providing the truck with a faster firmer shift to help extend the life of the transmission.

Economy – The economy level usually creates less overall power than other levels and is specifically tuned for optimum fuel economy. The Economy level is great for daily driving.

Towing – The towing level is designed for towing and has been optimized to provide power where it is needed most in order to move a load without overstressing the transmission with excess power.

Performance – The Performance level is a high-power level in which fuel injection and timing strategies are tuned semi-aggressively to extract substantial power gain from the vehicle without sacrificing drivability or durability.

Extreme – Extreme is the highest setting for the Evolution in which the fuel injection and timing strategies are aggressively tuned to extract high performance from your vehicle without sacrificing drivability or durability.

The Performance and Extreme levels should be used only when a high power output from the vehicle is desired and should not using for towing or hauling loads. Also you should never use the added performance to disobey state and federal laws including speed limits.

The Evolution CS and CTS is also offered under our new Edge Racing line of products. The Edge Racing Evolution CS and CTS models feature seven power levels that provide jaw-dropping horsepower and torque gains of up to 180 additional HP and 385+ ft. lbs. of torque. The Race tuner provides custom-built tunes designed for legal racing, sled pulling or other competition vehicles that have modified free-flowing exhaust systems. The Edge Racing Evolution is not legal for use on public highways and streets and may not be used for purposes other than off-road, legal competition/race uses.

Monitoring

The Evolution CS and CTS communicates with your vehicle's computer and displays a wide variety of important information about your vehicle's performance. The screen displays can be easily changed and configured to allow each user to view the data most important to him or her which include customized gauges, alerts and safety features. That means not only can you monitor important engine data such as the exhaust gas temperature, but you can create user-defined safety alerts that will audibly and visually let you know when you are reaching your pre-defined boundary. This advanced monitoring and alerting capability helps you use the added power safely to protect you and your vehicle.

The CS and CTS Evolution can monitor dozens of engine parameters which include, MPH, Boost PSI, Battery voltage, transmission fluid temperature, engine coolant temperature and many, many more.

The Evolution display can be configured to display three analog style gauges, two digital gauges and the current power level setting or 2, 4, 6, or 8 digital gauges as seen here. All of these data parameters can be changed by simply touching the parameter and selecting a new one.

Diagnosis and Performance Tests

The Evolution CS and CTS allows you to test the performance of your vehicle by timing 0-60 and quarter mile runs, equipped with a built in drag strip Christmas tree light system. The device will also graph these runs to help you better view and analyze the results.

The Evolution CS and CTS features a powerful diagnostics tool that enables you to view, read a brief description, and clear Diagnostic Trouble codes (or check engine lights) on the vehicle.

To retrieve and view the DTCs select Trouble Codes from the Diagnostics menu. Then select Read DTCs from the following menu.

After you retrieve the trouble codes and record them, you can clear the trouble codes by selecting "Clear DTCs" from the menu.

Diesel truck customers can also check injector balance rates. If you experience a misfire, knock, excessive smoke, or rough running condition with no electrical DTCs, the Injector Balance Rate option can help identify faulty injectors.

The ability to view and clear diagnostic codes and detect other vehicle problems with the Evolution saves time and money and gives you dealership knowledge without wasting a trip to the dealer.

Custom Tuning Options

The Evolution CS and CTS is extremely flexible, allowing you to customize your programmer to your specific vehicle and setup.

The Evolution allows you to re-calibrate the speedometer for non-stock tire size ensuring you get accurate readings from your vehicle's stock speedometer.

With the new Evolution, you also have the option to adjust the factory speed limiter higher or lower than the factory set speed limiter. Remember, this feature should be used for legal racing only and should never be used in violation of local, state, and federal traffic laws.

If you have changed the factory gears, the Evolution gives you the option of selecting a new gear ratio.

With easy to use features and customized options, the Edge Products CS and CTS Evolution puts the control back in your hands.

Backup Camera

One of the most exciting features of the Evolution CTS is its ability to support video input. The CTS Evolution is equipped with a video-in port allowing users to connect to Edge's state-of-the-art backup camera. The Edge camera uses night-vision technology to allow you to see in the dark. It also comes equipped with an anti-theft locking license plate mount. The Evolution CTS is compatible with most standard off-the-shelf backup cameras, DVD players or other video sources.

With a backup camera installed, once the vehicle gear selector is placed in reverse, the CTS Evolution automatically switches to camera mode allowing you to see exactly what is going on behind you without ever pushing a button or changing your settings. Now you can back up your rig safely or connect your trailer more easily.

The video-in port can also be used with other video devices such as a camcorder or a DVD player.

Accessories
